Working alongside the ministry of International Steward, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we are working to help ministry leaders worldwide realize their potential of locally funding the ministries God has entrusted to them. Through workshops on Bibilical Stewardship and Fund Development leaders learn about the devastating effects of external dependence and begin to see God meeting the needs of people and their communities locally.
A great example of the transformative effects of this teaching can be found in the community of Bundibugyo, Uganda. Bishop Hannington traveled 2 days to get to a workshop in Kampala. Upon returning home he found that his village had been completely overrun by rebels from the Congo. After searching for two weeks, Hannington finally located his family in a refugee camp. Wondering how he would be able to help his people now, he sought the Lord's guidance, and then began teaching on stewardship and generosity within the camp.
